SMMT figures show CV production was up 13.4% in the six months to 30 June compared with the same period in 2003. Strong European demand helped UK plants to offset the effect of weaker domestic demand. SMMT chief Macgowan expects this strong demand, backed by consistent UK orders, to result in the production of more than 200,000 units by the end of the year.
