Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

We regretfully report that optimism levels sank to an all-time low in March with a score of just +28. A total of 61% said they are either very optimistic or fairly optimistic about the prospects for their business over the next 12 months, while 33% said they are either not very optimistic or not at all optimistic.

As has been the case for the past few months, own-account opera tors have the most bullish outlook: in March this sector recorded a 75/22 positive/negative split. Logistics and contract distribution irms posted a 62/34 split, while hire and reward hauliers continue to suffer with a 56/36 split.

● The next Trucking Britain survey is now online. We want to know how your operation performed in the irst quarter. Go to www.commercialmotor.com/ truckingbritain to take part. Everyone who completes the survey is entered into a draw with a chance to win a cheque for £100.
