CONSIDERATION OFA bid for a new 0-licence by Hengoed-based Beaufort Tran sport, and disciplinary action against the licence held by its predecessor One Way Transport, now in administration, has been adjourned until a date to be fixed by Welsh Deputy Traffic Commissioner Roger Seymour.
Beaufort Transport had applied for a new international licence authorising the operation of eight vehicles and 12 trailers.
Seymour was told it was accepted that there were serious issues with both companies. One Way Transport, which held a national licence for three vehicles and two trailers, had gone into administration in December and Beaufort Transport had come into existence but did not currently hold a licence.
The Deputy TC said an application for an interim licence by Beaufort Transport had been refused by TC David Dixon because of serious issues with One Way Transport.The administrators of One Way Transport could request to carry on operating under the existing licence under Regulation 31. Currently there was no authority for either company to operate anything.
Adjourning the hearing, the DTC said that in the past few days there had been additional allegations concerning possible drivers' hours offences and unauthorised use.
Three drivers who had also been called before the DTC requested that their cases be heard in private. The DTC said that if evidence was given that impacted upon the two companies, they would be advised of it and given the opportunity of addressing it.
