TWO more Dutch operators are buy

ing Leyland Worldmaster vehicles. Arnhem municipality is purchasing six after having had one in service for nine months. The new models will be operated on five city services and will carry 34 seated and 51 standing passengers.

Seats for another 11 passengers can be fitted during the summer so that the vehicles can be used for sightseeing tours. The Verheul bodies have two doors with C.A.V. opening equipment.

HOLIDAY CAMP GRANTS IN a reserved decision, the North Western Traffic Commissioners have partly granted applications by the North Western Road Car Co., Ltd., to pick up and set down passengers at puffin's camp at Filey on express services to Scarborough from Manchester, Stock port and Biddulph. • The Manchester and Stockport applications have been granted for the neriod from the penultimate Saturday in July to the last Saturday in August. A decision on the Biddulph servicei has not yet been announced.'

As reported in The Commercial Motor on October 19 and November 16, 1956, and March 8, passengers for the camp had to be carried past the entrance and then make their way back from Scarborough.

YARMOUTH EXTENSION GRANTED PPLICATIONS by C. Riley and W. Smart and Co., Ltd., Rotherham, operators of a Saturday joint holiday express service between Rawmarsh, Rotherham and Great Yarmouth, to extend the period of operation by commencing at Whitsuntide, and for additional picking-up points at Wickersley and Maltby, have been granted in a reserved decision by the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners.

As The Commercial Motor reported on March 8, the objectors, British Railways, submitted that exceptional demand had been created by the fuel shortage and that the application, if granted, would be the first step towards applying for additional vehicles.

WHAT is probably the cheapest commercial vehicle in Britain has been announced by Isetta of Great Britain, Ltd., Brighton, Sussex. This fourwheeler of Italian conception, modified by B.M.W. of Germany and now being built at a former locomotive shop in Brighton, will carry 3 cwt. excluding driver.

As a pick-up with fabric top it retails at £299 18s., or with an all-metal container at £307, including purchase tax.
