An Eccles Product tho Interior Equipment of Which Has Been Carefully Thought Out.

QtilTE a new note has been struck in a caravan body built and mounted on a Lancia chassis by Eccles Motor Caravans, Ltd., Gosta Green, Birmingham. The caravan, although roomy and built with an eye to comfort, is, nevertheless, of excellent appearance, being low, well-proportioned and of good lines.

The driver's seat is totally enclosed and is protected by a metal-framed windscreen, whilst at the sides two wide panels of curved section conform to the shape of the body. The lights in these panels are capable of being lowered into the body frame, so as to facilitate signalling and provide increased ventila

tion. There is only one door—on the near side---but this is sufficiently wide to allow great freedom of movement during entry or exit, whilst the armchair for passengers' use, which is located in front near the driver's seat, can be lifted out if desired for use when picnicking, etc.

There are two compartments in the body, which are divided by double swing doors. In the front compartment a twoburner oil cooker with oven and dresser

is installed, the latter having cupboards in the lower section, which contain cooking and table -utensils, all fitted in rattleproof holder's. The top can be lifted up to reveal a metal tray, which drains into a wash-bowl to form a sink, whilst on the other side of the body an upholstered seat is arranged to draw out and form a single bed.

The rear compartment which, incidentally, is 5 ft. long, contains an Eccles patent double-sprung seat ruff fling right...across the back end of the body, a large locker being provided for bedclothes. Adjacent to the seat on each side is a hinge-up table, whilst a wardrobe, with a full-length bevel-plate mirror, and a dressing table are also installed. The interior stheme is very attractively carried out, being in Jacobean oak with flowered upholstery and pink curtains to tone in colour. Combined with leaded windows, these features give an extremely cosy appearance to the interior. The price of £375 includes such items as a spare-wheel carrier, a locker on the running board for petrol, oil and water and a direction indicator. Thus the vehicle forms a complete mobile home.
