Firm keeps head above water reports David Harris

WORKSOP-BASED logistics firm Seafield has not lost a single customer despite its former parent company being investigated by the Serious Fraud Office, Seafield's managing director said this week.

Seafield Holdings was put into administration in July after its parent, Orb Estates, withdrew financial support because it too had been put in administration. Orb has been under investigation by the Serious Fraud Office since December 2002.

Seafield was then saved by new owners, who bought it and re-named it Seafield Logistics ( 31 Jul-6 Aug).

All the old Seafield staff remained, including managing director Mark Strong.

He says that he is very happy with progress since the takeover by Andy Ruhan and Alan Campbell, who also own Conway Holdings International.

Strong adds: "We are very pleased with the first five or six weeks.

"We have reached agreement with all our subcontractors and no customers have left us. We haven't noticeably suffered."
