Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Haulage companies in Shropshire have been urged to step up their security following a spate of truck thefts in the county.

West Mercia police believe that a single gang, which is carrying specialist machinery to lift heavy gates to enter firms' yards, could be responsible for five incidents over the past two months.

Detective Sergeant Jason Wells says: "Some property has been recovered but other items amounting to 2100,000 are still outstanding. It is possible that the vehicles were moving north along the A49. Anyone with information should contact us."

The first two thefts involved trucks belonging to Llanelli-based Owens Road Services.

A blue ERF was taken from Smithfield car park in Ludlow, then a blue Volvo was taken from the Broad Street car park in Leominster. Both went missing between 5-7 July, but were later recovered minus their loads of copper worth 225,000 (CM 10-17 July). Between 9-11 August, a third Owens trailer which contained aluminium cans was stolen from the Travellers Rest at Afcot. The unit was later found on the Al minus its load.

A tractor belonging to Shrewsbury-based Scott and Newman was also stolen during the same period after the site's metal gates were lifted to gain entry.

Then on 23 August a Mitsubishi Canter with Hiab lifting gear was taken from Oreton Building Supplies in Brimfield.
