• DIY retailer Wickes Building Supplies has doubled its tractive unit fleet by adding 12 new 360hp Scania P124 4x2s. Wickes has also replaced its ageing fleet of curtainsider trailers with 55 new units from Montracon.
The Scanias were supplied on a two-year contract hire agreement
through W Wright of Northampton, while the new curtainsider trailers come via Hill Hire. Wickes says the new 3.5m units, with their full air management systems, are already outperforming its existing Mercedes two-year old outfits.
