Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WITH EUROPEAN Commission Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) set to become law from 29 October, Cartwright Group director Steven Cartwright said the company is under pressure to ensure customers can still get the products they want and need.

“We have to go down the mass-production route for WVTA to meet customers demands even though they want something bespoke.

“We have such a varied range and we have to do a lot of WVTA testing because we can’t lose the flexibility to build the one-off,” he said.

Even though WVTA has been looming for a while, operators are only concerned about it if it forces significant changes to specification on products. “If an operator can’t have something they will kick up a fuss, and if we can’t deliver they will go somewhere else,” said Cartwright. “So, we have to do more testing and make sure we can offer what they want.”
