OPERATORS Al the CM legal seminar in the Midlands last week were briefed on a number of new laws that will affect the industry James Backhouse, a director at Backhouse Jones solicitors,warned delegates at the ATS Euromastersponsored event to take note of the new holiday entitlement,which became effective on 1 October: "This paid holiday should be based on the average weekly pay, not basic pay. If you're paying bonuses then this needs to be factored into that average."
Backhouse also alerted operators to new laws on graduated fixed penalties, corporate manslaughter and EC drivers' hours.
