Eastern Deputy Traffic Commissioner Mary Kane has granted a licence to Hertford-based Peter Green, but with a string of conditions to mitigate adverse environmental effects on neighbouring residents.
As a result Green is only allowed to operate two vehicles from his operating centre at Beavers Lodge Farm, Newg ate Street Village, with a maximum GVW of 7.5 tonnes. The times of operation are restricted to 7am-7pm Monday-Friday and 7am-4pm on a Saturday with only one movement in and out permitted on Saturdays.
In addition Green is banned from carrying out any maintenance work at the site.
Grant follows probe into associated companies
Caerphilly-based Rhino Fixing &Tool Hire has been granted a licence by Welsh Deputy Traffic Commissioner Tim Hayden. The DTC had previously reserved his decision until he received further details
about a number of failed associated companies. (CM21 June).
Rhino MD Chris Lucey had been involved with three companies who were or had been insolvent; namely L&M Leasing, Bob Cat (Wales)and Eco Plant.
Lucey told the DTC he had been investigated as a director and had been cleared of any wrongdoing.
Warnings over maintenance for two Scots operators
Though taking no action against the licences held by Buckie-based Moray Landscapes and Peterhead-based Fresh Catch, Scottish Deputy Traffic Commissioner Richard McFarlane has given both companies a formal warning about their maintenance standards.
The two firms had been called before the DTC at an Aberdeen disciplinary inquiry.
