Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Go-Ahead Northern's plans to diversify could be at the expense of its existing bus services, warns the Transport and General Workers' Union.

The union believes that the Gateshead-based operator will neglect its existing bus services in favour of a more profitable operation.

"It's likely they will divert capital into areas that are going to produce most profit," says the TGWU's Mike Brider.

But Go-Ahead, which will not reveal what it plans to expand into, says that its investment of about 50 buses over the past 18 months demonstrates its commitment to developing its services.

It adds if the radio systems fitted into 50 of its buses at its Gateshead depot are effective it will equip another 150 buses next year.
