THE building and repair of coach I bodies by W. S. Yeates Ltd. of Loughborough is to cease, it was revealed this week; the body works have been offered to Duple Motor Bodies Ltd. and a spokesman for Yeates told The Commercial Motor this week that agreement had been reached on this, subject to contract Duple has agreed to complete outstanding work and to continue to service and repair Yeates coachwork.
Yeates has regretfully had to terminate the employment of all those engaged in the coach works, but the Duple cornpany has indicated that it is willing to accept applications for employment at the Willowbrook factory from all those made redundant. although the company out that this offer does not imply atee of employment. The Yeates ' is adjacent to Duple's Willow'actory.
. Yeates Ltd. is to continue the ip side of the business, which has pending rapidly, so the company tintain its very large trade in tr vehicles. The chassis engineerrepair shops will also be retained s started its coachbuilding activiiediately after the Second World ving previously been a retailer of :r vehicles. This business started ngham in 1928 and was moved to )rough in 1930, where land was from the Willowbrook company.
