Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A ROW HAS BROKEN out between the Transport & General Workers Union and parcels firm Lynx Express over a nationwide strike by Lynx drivers.

Over 300 T&G drivers will walk out across the country tomorrow and Monday (5 and 8 November) — the T&G claims an overwhelming 86% rejection of a 4% pay offer. However, Lynx management claims there is little support among the drivers for the strike, calling this "an isolated dispute".

Union officials described the offer as "little more than a thinly disguised pay cut".

They say it fails to value hardworking drivers and does nothing to reduce the working week ahead of the Working Time Directive.

T&G national secretary Steve Turner warns that the drivers will consider stepping up the action in coming weeks if there is no significant movement by the company.

But Lynx claims the dispute is restricted to a small number of employees at its Scottish depots where 166 workers were eligible to vote but only 103 did so.

It says only 56 were in favour of action:"Regardless of the fact that the T&G clearly have negligible support for industrial action they are attempting to disrupt business at Lynx.

"The dispute is isolated and will not impact on company opera tions. Lynx is disappointed by the attitude of the T&G, especially given that a settlement has been reached with the larger body of employees represented by the RMT [union]."
