successful application to replace a four-wheeler carrying nine tons by a sixwheeler to carry 14, which was heard by the West Midland deputy Licensing Authority, at Malvern, last week. Supporting witnesses said that, instead of customers—who bought fruit from wholesalers and growers—paying the carriage themselves, it was now becoming quite common for the sellers to be asked to quote an inclusive price, paid home.
It was to the seller's interest that larger vehicles should be used if rates could thereby be reduced.
The successful applicant was Mr. R. D. Sinclair.
