rEBRUARY I next will be the appointed day under the Transport Act. After that date it will be illegal to carry for hire or reward beyond radius of 25 miles of a vehicle's operating centre, unless the goods carried are excluded traffic, or a permit has been issued by the Road Haulage Executive, or a notice of acquisition has-been 'served on the undertaking and has not been withdrawn.

. It is expected that the Executive will .give its decision on applications for original 'permits during December, January and February.
