Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• With reference to articles on training over the past few issues of Commercial Motor, I have a question to ask all the owners and directors of transport companies. Who trains the transport managers of the future?

I obtained the CPC Goods National and International and gained a CPC PSV National and International through my own efforts and expense, but I have had only one definite offer of a transport manager position and that only lasted months owing to financial problems in the company, unbeknown to me at the time.

So, where does a working man like myself, who is welleducated, turn to gain further qualifications in the road transport sector?

There appears to be no night school or the like within reach of a working man who has the drive and enthusiasm to go much further than a driver.

So come on, all you company managers, owners and directors, tell the struggling, working, married man, who has the potential to progress, where he can go to obtain the necessary training and exams for professional qualifications.
