• West German equipment manufacturer Robert Bosch will be manufacturing a new compact alternator from 1991 at MisIdn, north-west of Cardiff, Over the next four years the company is to invest £100 million on the plant.
Bosch has chosen the UK for for this site because of the growth in the economy.
It is planned to produce an annual five million of the "miniature power plants" at Miskin from 1995.
Bosch sales in Britain amounted to £330m in 1988; parts and materials worth almost £45m were bought on the British market.
