Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE Vehicles (Excise) Act, 1962, which came into operation on April 1, now constitutes the complete statutory code on the excise licensing and registration of mechanically propelled vehicles.

In practice the Act makes no changes in the law relating to these matters. It merely assembles, regroups and modernizes the relevant provisions which were previously enacted in the Vehicle& (Excise) Act, 1949, and in a number of subsequent Acts, including nine Finance Acts, and in three Orders.

Copies of the Act can be purchased from branches of H.M. Stationery Office. or through any bookseller, price 2s. 6d.
