THE AVON Rubber Company made a profit of £2.18m before interest for the half year ended April 2.
Lower interest rates and more effective use of money have combined to get a lower interest charge, leaving the Group with a profit before tax of £0.729m. compared with a loss of £1.4m for the first half year of 1982.
The Group's recovery is expected to continue in the second half of the year.
