The demand for an extra 3d. per hour for all adult male workers, with proportionate increases for women and boys, which caused the recent strike of bodybuilding workers. has been withdrawn.

TWENTY TO ONE IN APPEAL

RETURNING from its sittings this week in Exeter, the Appeal Tribunal will hear cases at Halifax House. Strand, London, W.C.2, during the next fortnight.

The appellant on June 8 will be James Clubb, who is aggrieved by a decision of the Metropolitan Licensing Authority. The Railway Executive and six others will appear as respondents.

On June 9 the Tribunal will hear an appeal by John Jones against a decision of the West Midland Deputy Licensing Authority, and on June 10 by J. W. Barrow against a decision of the North-Western Licensing Authority.

A. E. Harrison and 19 others will appeal on June 15-16 against a grant to Lloyd Bros. (Haulage), Ltd., by the East Midland Licensing Authority.

On June 17 the Tribunal will hear an application by Charles Chapman. Ltd„ for costs on abandonment of an appeal. The Railway Executive and the Barnham Transport Co.. Ltd.. will be the respondents.

AMBULANCE RADIO SERVICE A N ambulance service controlled by means of two-way radio was inaugurated experimentally last week by Yorkshire West Riding County Council. From the control station at Oakroyd House, Birkenshaw, near Bradford, there is two-way communication with ambulances at Birkenshaw, Guiseley, Wakefield and Brighouse. If the experiment be successful, further radio control stations will be established to cover the north and south of the West Riding county area, in the Harrogate and Doncaster districts. 26
