Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Which came into force on January 9, are proposed by the Road Haulage Central Wages Board. An increase from 9s. to 10s. 6d. in the subsistence allowance covering a period of rest away from the home depot not exceeding 15 hours' continuous-duration. is recommended. For a worker who is temporarily transferred for more than a week, it is proposed to increase the

weekly subsistence allowance from 42s. to 45s, 6d. and the daily allowance from 6s. to 6s. 6d.

The Board also wishes to make some special provisions for milk workers, to whom the existing Order applies. A milk worker, it is proposed, should be defined as a regular worker who is employed on six days a week and who is exclusively engaged in the collection of milk from farms and its delivery to dairies, subject to the proviso that he shall not cease to be a milk worker solely because, exceptionally, he is required to work on those duties on the remaining day of the week.

For this class of worker, the proposed regulated day is to be one of 7 hours 20 minutes, and a six-day working week, to be operated over any period of seven days, is recommended. Guaranteed payment for Sunday work is to carry an enhanced rate of time-and-a-half, applied to a day of 7 hours 20 minutes, with double time for work on a rest day.

The Area Wages Boards and all employers in the industry will be allowed 21 days in which to lodge their objections to the proposals. Then the Central Board will meet again.
