• Mr. Umberto Agnelli, member of Fiat's administrative council, had a meeting with Mr. Vladimir Novikov, vice-chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers, on June 27 to discuss questions connected with the construction of the motor works at Togliatti on the Volga in which Fiat is taking part.
The possibility of Fiat taking part in the construction of a big plant to produce lorries was also considered. Mr. Agnelli invited Mr. Novikov to visit Italy to inspect the company's plants.
