Ma. R. T. OUTEN has been appointed a director of the Provincial Traction Co., Ltd.. in place • of Ma. H. L. WHITE. The company was formed in 1936 to acquire from the Provincial Tramways Co., Ltd., the issued capital of the Gosport and Fareham Omnibus Co.
Ma. G. C. WELBY, formerly assistant to the sales director of Vauxhall Motors, Ltd., has been appointed sales manager. MR. W ANGUS, who was previously sales distribution manager, has become assistant sales manager, and MR. C. E. RUST, fleet sales division manager.
MR. R. C. Hiram, 0.B.E., has been appointed sales manager (replacement) of the tyre division of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd. He became assistant sales manager at Fort Dunlop last February. MR. FRANK R. CARR, sales manager of the accessories division, has been made a director of Dunlop Special Products, Ltd.
MR.. D. G. STOKES, IVI.S.A.E., A.M.1.Mech.E., export manager of Leyland Motors, Ltd., was expected to arrive in England this week after a 20,000-mile tour of 14 'countries. He left Rio de Janeiro on June 16 and is returning with firm orders valued at £200,000, as well as other contracts awaiting confirmation,
MR. W. J McLauctittN, C.A., has been appointed secretary of the Aluminium Development Association in place Of MR. E. J. DAVIES, who has resigned. MR. J. C. Rafter, B.Sc., has been appointed technical officer and will take over most of the duties previously carried out by MR. J. D. BEDoows, B.Sc., who has secured an important industrial position in the Midlands. MR. W. J. IttoNs, A.IVI.Inst.T., the extremely " live " honorary secretary of the • Transport Managers' Club, is naturally keen on developing this throughout the country. Already in the main centres it is progressing favourably, and, apart from discussions, many social functions are being arranged. MR. C. WINDSOR-RICHARDS has been appointed chairman of the Milk Carriers' Functional Group of the Road Haulage Association. He is also the representative on the National Council and a member of the Joint Haulage Committee. Vice-chairman of the Milk Carriers' Functional Group is MR. R. P MIERS, MR. A. V. HARRISON has been elected chairman of the Livestock Functional Group, and will serve on the National Council. MR. G, 1. WittrE has been appointed vice-chairman.
