The old main road from Llandudno to Conway—narrow, tortuous and hilly— has now been improved and made modern to meet the requirements of all road users, which include pedestrians. In the region of Tyn-y-Coed Hill, the carriageway has been widened to 25 ft. and a footpath of 6 ft. added. With a granite foundation of 12 ins, and a Penmaeninawr macadam surface, tar-painted in certain places and tar macadam in others, geed drainage secured, and the main telegraph poles set hack from the roadway, it will he observed how thoroughly the joint 'committee composed of representative of the Borough of Conway and the Llandudno U.D.C. have dealt with the preposition.

The major Portion of the cost has been borne by the Ministry of Transport and the remainder by the Caritarvon County CotinCiI, Darotigh of Conway and Llandudno Council. Lord Mostyri -and the trusteea of the Birmingham Cnnvalescent Home have been generous in gifts of

land. The engineering part has been carried through jointly by Messrs. Delamotte; Conway and W. T. Ward, Llandudno, Borongh Engineers and Surveyors.

For many years the road from Llandudno Junction and Conway to Llandudno has been worn out and dangerous, and efforts have been made to bring about an improvement now at last acComplished. In the same effort has been included one to remove the danger that existed at the Llanthos cross-road near Colwyn Bay,
