At Southend Corporation Health Committee the medical officer of health submitted a letter from the clerk to the Billericay R.D.C. asking that action might be taken by the corporation to bring about an abatement of the nuisance caused by noxious fumes from the oil depots at Thames Haven and Shell Haven, and also from the clerk to the Rochford R.D.C. asking if the corporation would co-operate with his council should it be necessary to take legal proceedings in this matter. The medical officer of health reported the result of the interview with the manager of the depot at Shell Haven as to the steps taken to bring about an abatement of the nuisance referred to, and that he was visiting the depot at Thames Haven, and would report again to the committee.
