In a report to the Westminster City Council the Highways Committee refers to the new departmental committee appointed to consider the parking of vehicles and complains that it contains no reference to the London local authorities. The subject is obviously one of considerable importance to highway authorities, particularly to Westville.. ter, which is one of the most important traffic centres. The parking of vehicles in a street might seriously complicate and interfere with the work of a highway authority, which is responsible for the paving, maintaining, cleansing, lighting and safety of the highways. The diffictilties which could arise in provincial areas can hear no comparison with conditions in London, and hence there should be a representative for the Metropolis on the committee.
