The iffy name might have been a good icea in France, but sounds 1ke a flat tyre over here. Renault's challenger in the low-access cab municipal chassis sector seemed destined to only appear at CIVVM, on examples are now appearing on LK roads.

They are not yet being used for emptying bins, finding work as motorway maintenance cone-layers with the likes of RCS, a growing sector if ever there was one.

The Puncher is actually a cooperative venture with PVI, a =rench specialist manufacturer. Its available as a 2.360mm cab as standard, with the option of a wider 2,500mm version. In France, at least it features a wide range of alternative fuel options, including gas, electric and diesel-electric hybrid. The home market also has the possibility of spec al versions for street cleaning and even a lowemissions distribution vehicle.
