James Cressey has become network manager for National Express. He will be based at Midland House, Birmingham and will be responsible to Clive Myers, the new general manager for National Express.

Mr Cressey joined the bus industry in 1969 on the vehicle manufacturing side with Bristol Commercial Vehicles.

For the next four years he held various posts with the Eastern National and Red and White companies before becoming assistant operations manager (express) of National Travel (South West) in April 1975.

In 1980 he became chief commercial officer for the South West company, becoming National Express (South West area) commercial manager in 1981.
