LOCALLY-based service is now available from the South Western municipalities from Shelvoke and Drewry Ltd's new depot in Exeter.
Situated near the M5, it has a good link with the main factory at Letchworth, which enables next-day delivery for urgently required replacements, if they are not readily available from the 8,500sqft stores.
Anglo engines
Anglo Coachbuilders Ltd of Batley, Yorkshire, have just completed two Dodge-based fire appliances for the Humberside Fire Brigade.
Wheelbase has been reduced to 3.5m (lift 6in) from the standard chassis.
A Godiva pump with a capacity of 4,560 lit/min (1,000gpm) is included in the specification.
Bench test
Cummins KV12 and KV16 fuel pumps can now be bench tested on either the 490 or 120 Leslie Hartridge test units.
The 490 has to be used in conjunction with a test stand to provide the variable drive to the pump, whereas the 120 is self sufficient. Both have two flowmeters, one for the main supply and the second to monitor leakage and idle flow.
