NEXT managing director of Containerway and Roadferry Ltd is to be R. W. Freeman — at present assistant managing director.

He will succeed R. G. Davies who is to retire later this year. Mr Freeman joined Transport Services in 1947 and later became general manager of its subsidiary, Kneller and Chandler.

Mr Freeman has held posts with British Road Services and joined his present company — a National Freight Corporation company — in 1967. He took up his present job in 1974.

David Folwell takes over as transport manager of the Golden Wonder fleet on March 1. He succeeds Don Boote who is to retire. Thirty-nine-year-old Mr Folwell moves from Mixconcrete (Holdings) of Northampton to take up his new post.

W. Hardie who succeeds E. P. Lumley, the assistant chief mechanical engineer (workshops) who retires in May.

Sealink Scotland has appointed Graham Clingan as its new area manager for Northern Ireland which includes the Lame to Stranraer ferry.

Mr Clingan will be responsible for the whole of Ulster and will be based in Belfast. His office will be handling all enquiries for British Rail and Sealink bookings.

Dobson Hydraulics has appointed a new manager for its transport products group. He is John Jenkins who joins the company from Norde Suspensions.

Dug Parry is the new sales manager, gun and nipple products for Interlobe Systems — 'part of the Tecalemit group. He was export executive of another group company, Tecalemit Garage Equipment.

Powell Duffryn has appointed Anthony Armitage as the new deputy managing director of the Powell Duffryn Engineering company.

Mr Armitage moves to his, new job from the commercia department of the GEC Gen, erator Company where he was product planning manager.
