ASUBSIDY equal to approximately a 4d.-inthe-£ rate was proposed in the Sunderland transport committee estimates for 1966-7 submitted last week.
The actual figure proposed is £112,466, compared with just over £77,000 in the current financial year, £52,148 in 1964-5 and £20,629 in 1963-4.
Traffic receipts in the last three months of 1965 were up on the 1964 figures, but passenger carryings were about 700,000 down,
