Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Institute of Traffic Administration, I must reply to the criticism levelled at us in your editorial (January 21). You ask if there is a need for a new professional organization to cater for the operating side of Aand Clicensed road transport. I would say no. Although the IoTA embraces all types of transport—land, sea and air—the majority of its members are connected with A-, Band C-licensed hauliers.

We in the London Centre hold monthly meetings at which our members are addressed on various aspects of transport by wellknown personalities.

I extend a welcome to all concerned in transport to attend the following meetings to judge for themselves the variety of our programme and to meet the committee members, who will be pleased to provide any information required.

March 1. Brains Trust: Mr. W. Fraser (managing director, Transport Development Group); Mr. R. Freeson (Labour MP, Willesden East); Mr. V. Goodhew (Conservative MP, St. Albans); Mr. D. E. Lea (Research and Economic Department, TUC).

April 19. "The Role of Pipelines in the Movement of Oit in Great Britain", by Mr. F. C. Simpkins.

These meetings will be held at the Hotel Russell, Russell Square, London WC1-6.45 for 7 p.m.

Anyone wanting information concerning the IoTA can obtain this from Mr. J. H. S. Bangay, national secretary, at Northgate House, 20-24 Moorgate, London EC2 (Tel: METropolitan 7010). H. C. GRACE, Chairman, London Centre, IoTA.
