Fifth-wheel help

• Firbank has launched a fifth-wheel hoist to rid drivers of problems when they unload their trucks on a slope or fully empty a bulk liquid tanker.

The lm hoist can lift loads of up to 40 tonnes and has been designed to handle 13.6m trailers, including refrigerated trailers. It can be retrofitted and has the approval of the Department of Transport.

• Truck drivers have until the end of August to take advantage of BP's latest promotion, in which tokens given with purchases of fuel can be exchanged for free videos.

Drivers have to collect 35 tokens before being able to exchange them for one of 20 videos from Warner Home Movies, or a blank tape. Token collectors can also acquire a tape with 15 tokens plus £3.99. Blank tapes are free for 15 tokens.

• A free-standing weighbridge designed to be bolted together in an hour or two is available from Runcorn-based Axtec. It is sold in a range of lengths and capacities.
