We're pleased that Commercial Motor has felt it worthwhile to conduct this survey. It has to be said that, particu

larly at the heavy end of the industry, it is very male-dominated.

Those in your survey, who see the onus is on women to come into the industry and change things, are wrong — it simply isn't going to happen Ile that.

There are fewer people corning onto the job market and that is going to force employers to change their attitudes towards employing skilled women.

The general approach of our union is there should be proper opportunities y for everybody. The barriers that existed a few years ago have been lifted.
