• The National Owner Drivers Association has protested to three ready-mixed concrete firms which it claims are attempting to charge owner-drivers for poor quality concrete delivered to customers. In February it told CM about delivery notes which make the driver responsible for the quality of the concrete — if the customer rejects it the driver stands to lose his haulage fee and has to pay for the ruined concrete.
