Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Production of the Peugeot 305 van has ceased. Space is needed at the Sochaux plant for expanding 605 car production, says Peugeot.

About 100 right-hand-drive models are still in stock with UK dealers, but it will be some 18 months before its replacement is available — loyal Peugeot buyers will either have to sit it out or switch to a rival manufacturer.

No details about that replacement are available yet, but the 405 is the successor to the 305 car range so that would be the obvious model from the current car range to take on the Escort van.

Detail changes to the 504 pickup mean that all models now get a split-squab cab seat and the standard model is fitted with the five-speed gearbox previously only offered in the GL.
