STC'S MANCHESTER MOVE • Sandbach Truck Centre — Foden's main dealer for the North West of England — has opened a new parts centre at Manchester.

The latest parts outlet is located at the Sadler Transport complex at Westinghouse Road, Trafford Park (phone 061-872 0401) and will offer an all-makes parts service for truck operators in the Greater Manchester area.

STC will be investing further in stocks, refurbishment, business systems and customer support services over the coming months.

It has a direct link with the central computer at Sandbach, allowing instant inventory checks, quicker parts call-up, improved VOR service and point of sales invoicing. By the end of the year the computer link will be extended to give immediate access to Foden's national parts distribution centre.

As an Eaton Fuller Approved Transmission Specialist STC currently offers gearbox servicing and rebuilding at its workshops.

A parts sales and delivery van service now caters for operators in and around Greater Manchester, while customers calling at the parts centre will soon see improvements, including a new reception area and extensive parking.

Plans are also in hand to develop the vehicle servicing facilities offered by Sadler at its Trafford Park site. A new workshop extension will create additional service bays which will be available to all operators of all makes of truck, day and night.

GREENHOUSE Grrs LEYLAND

• Greenhous Midlands, previously the third largest Bedford distributor in the country, has become a fulltime Leyland distributor. In addition to the Leyland Trucks agreement, Greenhous Midlands has been awarded the Multipart franchise and a new five-year parts and service agreement with General Motors to meet the requirements of existing Bedford Truck Customers. It will also continue to handle a Bedford van franchise.

Greenhous has already made a £2.5 million investment in the new franchise, including 2300,000 in stocking Leyland parts and the installation of an IBM computer worth £60,000. The company will also have a direct computer link to Leyland's parts computer at Chorley.

A further £40,000 has been spent on extending Greenhous Midland's parts warehouse at Neachells Lane, Wednesfield. Greenhous Midlands' service department is open from 6.30am to 9.30pm and can be contacted on (0902) 734090.
