Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A CORRESPONDENT in The Daily Telegraph suggested that we might cure the recession by buying two of everything. Now why didn't I think of that? Why has this obvious solution evaded even the gimlet brains at Roadway House and Tunbridge Wells (of Disgusted fame)? Could it be anything to do with money?

"Supposing," said the corre, spondent, "that we all bought another pair of shoes. Would not that put right the shoe trade?"

The process of natural evolution so brilliantly explained by David Attenborough, combined with Parkinson's law, would ensure that we developed four legs and would then each buy two extra pairs of shoes. The world would burgeon with wealthcreating shoes and team with feet spreading into EEC-sanctified metres in quadrapedal ecstasy.

It would be a sad day for the bus but a great day for the 30metre cattle truck.
