• At a resumed sitting in Leeds last week, the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioner granted Sandown Tours (Burnley) Ltd., a new feeder service from Yorkshire on which passengers will travel free to join the company's camping tours leaving from Manchester (CM February 7).
Picking-up points in Leeds, Bradford, Halifax and Huddersfield will be permitted and similar points are to be authorized when Continental tours via Yorkshire to Immingham and Hull are re-arranged to take this route.
The type of holiday provided by Sandown was completely different to those run by Wallace Arnold Tours Ltd., one of the objectors, considered the Commissioners, and the abstraction from stage and express services operated by the Yorkshire Pool operators would be so minimal as not to be harmful. "If there is any competition in the holiday field it will be of the good, healthy type," they felt.
