• To meet continued requests for doubledrive tractive units Volvo has now introduced double-drive versions of the 88 Series tractive units which will be known as the NB88, 6x4 and the FB88, 6x4. Both vehicles will be equipped with fully articulating 20-ton capacity d riving bodies.
A third differential will be utilized and all three in the bogie will be ecieipped with compressed-air operated differential locks. Two final drive ratios will be available, either 4.9 to 1 or 5.4 to 1.
Apart from the rear bogie the specification of the new models is as on the former 88 Series models.
