Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• New consolidated C and U regulations, including all the amendments made since the last consolidated publication in 1956, were laid before Parliament on Monday. The Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1969 contain the amendments affecting vehicle noise, tyres, windscreen washers, overall length of artics, p.s.v. and drawbar trailers.

Consequential amendments have also been made to the plating and testing regulations, while the Minister has also presented a consolidated Special Types Order. The main change in this is that vehicles used for abnor mal indivisible loads do not have to comply with the C and U weight restrictions for plated vehicles.

Copies of the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1969 (S.I. No. 1969 /321), the Goods Vehicles (Plating and Testing) (Amendment) Regulations 1969 (Si. no. 1969/322) and of the Motor Vehicles (Authorisation of Special Types) General Order 1969 (S.I. No. 1969/344) may be obtained from H.M. Stationery Office or from any bookseller at 9s 6d, 1s, and 3s respectively.
