• White, Child and Beney Ltd., parent of the WCB Group, Stalybridge, Cheshire, has acquired the Salford haulage company, Sudlows Carriers Ltd., for an undisclosed amount.

Mr. R. W. 0. Beney, chairman said: "We are immediately investing £60,000 for the purchase of new articulated vehicles to expand the fleet currently operated. Although as a Group we shall continue to use the company as general carriers, it has not been acquired as a captive unit and will continue to expand its operations throughout the UK."

Sudlows Carriers Ltd. are general carriers operating throughout Great Britain with a mixed fleet of vehicles. The company owns Packs Transport Ltd., also of Salford, which was acquired in 1968.
