• Another group training scheme is to be started in Lancashire next month. Seven companies have formed the Manchester Transport Training Group and it is hoped many more will join before the scheme commences on May 5.

Mr. W. Piggott of Ordsall Haulage Ltd.,' Failsworth, is the chairman, at whose premises the group will be situated; Mr. J. Wood, who recently retired from the North Western region of the Transport and General Workers' Union, has been appointed group training officer and will act as secretary. Mr. Wood, together with two driving instructors, is attending an RTITB course this month and a vehicle to be provided by the Board is on order.

The other companies who have joined so far are Massey Carriers Ltd., G. C. Redfern and Co. Ltd., Cheethams Transport Ltd., Geoffrey Reyner Ltd., W. Reeves and Son Ltd. and W. R. Wilson (Transport) Ltd.
