Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Danish Govern ment fixed maximum rates for road haulage, one level for Copenhagen and another, slightly lower, for the rest of L he country.

For vehicles with a capacity under about 2 tons, the rate is 6s. 8d. per hour, plus 6d. per hour for each additional ton of capacity. Sugar beet is carried at Is. 3d. per cwt. for every 62 miles; grain charges are about 24s. per ton for 'the same distance. The rate for peat collected in the country and carried over a distance of 62 miles is about 25s. per ton.

For furniture removals in vehicles up to 2 tons capacity, a rate of 10d. per mile is made, and for larger vans id. is added for every extra .k ton of capacity. Time for loading and unloading is charged at Is. 3d. per hour.

Where no special rate is fixed, charges must not exceed those in force in September, 1939, by more than 60 per cent. in Copenhagen and 70 elsewhere.
