Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A lorry driver who brought the whole of the Al in North Yorkshire to a standstill as he fought another driver has been jailed for six weeks. Gary Dale, 36, abandoned his 38-tonne lorry and attacked John Naylor, 54, after a confrontation at road works near Catterick village on 10 July. Southbound traffic came to a standstill until police separated the pair. Richmond magistrates were told that Dale, of Coldwell Road, Crossgates, Leeds, had attempted to overtake Naylor as he approached roadworks at about 06.00hrs. After both drivers had cleared the roadworks, the traffic slowed down, with Naylor's vehicle stopping next to Dale's. Dale then left his own lorry and jumped into Naylor's cab, attacking him, said Jane Cook, prosecuting.

She said Dale "lost control and was in a road-rage frenzy". Naylor, of Trimdon, Co Durham, needed hospital treatment for a swollen and closed eye and severe bruising to his face and nose.

Dale, who pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm, was jailed for six weeks and fined 2250 with 250 costs. His licence was endorsed with three points for driving without reasonable care for other road users.

Jonathan Cripwell, defending, said the incident erupted after Naylor had made rude gestures as the lorries entered the road works.

Dale had left his cab to ask the other driver why he had refused to let him overtake and when punches were thrown, Naylor "gave as good as he got".
