we ran a story on the Africar. Africar International has since pointed out that the vehicle is designed around a plywood reinforced plastic chassis, and not a steel roll cage as we reported.
Also, the engine is not multi-fuel, but will be produced in petrol, LPG, or diesel derivatives of the same basic unit.
A full launch is planned for January 1988, when a UK retail operation will be in place. The company hopes to sell around 5,000 per year in the UK market by the end of 1990.
