Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Seddon order

A E1 MILLION contract for truck and bus chassis has been secured from Greece by Seddon Atkinson Vehicles Limited. It is the biggest order ever gained by the company from that market.

The trucks are equipped to meet EEC regulations for 38-tonne vehicles. Specification includes 320 hp turbocharged Cummins diesel engines and luxury cabs incorporating a sleeping berth for the driver.

A total of 42 single-deck bus chassis have been ordered, powered by Gardner or Perkins diesel engines. They will be fed into an extensive bus replacement programme currently being undertaken in Greece.

Marathon first

LEX Tillotson Dundee claims to be the first Leyland dealer in the UK to have been granted a franchise for the new Cummins-powered Leyland Marathon chassis.

Covering the county of Angus, the franchise also authorises the dealership to undertake all warranty repairs on Cummins engines in Leyland chassis.

Ro-ro boom

DOVER'S ro/ro freight boom has continued into the summer, maintaining a cumulative increase for January to July of over 17 per cent for commercial road haulage vehicles and nearly 18 per cent for other roll-on freight.

Keswick by-pass

THE three-mile-long Keswick Northern By-pass, Cumbria, opened last week.

The by-pass is an important part of the improvements to the A66 Workington to Penrith trunk road. Its opening relieves the severe traffic congestion in the centre of Keswick and conditions in the town should improve considerably when the through traffic between the M6 Motorway and west Cumbria use the by-pass.
