ACOMA LTD has converted a standard Ford Escort van into a pick up, as no such vehicle is available direct from Ford.
The company says that the conversion has been so successful that the customer has already placed orders to be supplied over the next three years.
The conversion costs around £500 and has been approved by Ford, according to Acoma. It involved slicing off the roof and adding reinforcement to parts of the structure.
The bottom halves of the rear doors have been retained, doing away with the need for a tailgate.
