• On Monday the Minister of Transport laid before Parliament the Goods Vehicles (Carriers' Licenses) (Exemptions) Regulations 1969. These consolidate, with certain changes and additions, the existing exernpti ons from carriers' licensing.
The proposed changes (CM August 1) include new exemptions for electric vehicles, showmen's vehicles and small goods vehicles not exceeding 31; tons plated weight.
The regulations came into effect on Wednesday (October 1).
